Meet the Monsters! My bigger clay monsters start as a pinched, hollow body in my hands, then grow ears, toes and eyes until they suddenly look right back at you. Every one is one of a kind.

The purple monsters started as a request from my little boy! The monsters have been a hit at my local markets, so plenty found new homes before they ever reached the website. Most of my ceramic monsters are hand built from lava flecked clay, a few from white stoneware, and they're glazed in speckled blues, greens, pinks, reds and yellows.

Each one takes two trips through the fire, once for bisque and once for glaze, and the glaze is where the real surprises happen. I never quite know who's going to come out looking smug, startled or delighted with itself! I wrote all about it in the making of the monsters.

They all have something going on. Clive puts a brave face on everything with a thumbs up, Berk loves dunking a biscuit in a milky cup of tea, and Phil has been promoted to King of the Goblins. If you'd like a smaller friend, the Thumblings fit in a pocket.

How big are the monsters?

They're all different! Every monster's page has its measurements, and there's a size guide at the top of this page. The Mini Monster Moods are the little ones, just 2 to 4cm tall.

How do the Mini Monster Moods packs work?

You choose one, three or five, and I pick the moods for you, so you never quite know who's coming until they arrive! No two minis are the same.

Is every monster one of a kind?

Yes! Every handmade monster is the only one there is. The next batch will look related, but never the same, and Instagram (@henroo_pottery) is the best place to hear when they land.

Can my monster live outside?

Yes! My lava fleck and stoneware monsters are happy out in the garden, or somewhere damp. There's always a slight risk of the glaze cracking if it freezes, but they should be fine. My raku fire demon is the exception. Raku stays a little porous, so keep him indoors and dry.

How long will delivery take?

Please allow 3 to 5 working days for your monster to be wrapped up and posted, then it travels UK Tracked 48. I can only post within the UK for now. There's more on my shipping page.
