Pieces in Fairy Houses
About the Fairy Houses collection
Ceramic fairy houses for keeping your treasures inside, and some are made to glow with a tea light! Each one is hand built from lava flecked clay and decorated with oxides and glaze, so no two are ever the same.
My fairy houses are some of my bigger makes, so they take a lot of clay and a lot of patience. Build a bit, wait for it to firm up, build a bit more, and then each one goes through the fire twice before it's finished. There's more about how I work in my post on the slow craft of handbuilding.
Blossom House has a big blue flower for a roof, with a curly stalk on top. Acorn House has a spotty acorn cap roof, little painted flowers and a chimney, so you can pop an incense cone inside and watch the smoke curl out of it! Acorn House has already found its forever home, but you can still say hello.
And every fairy house needs a neighbour or two! If yours is looking for company, have a peek at the Funguys, my little mushroom crew.
Can I put a tea light in a fairy house?
Only in the ones made for it! Some of my houses are made to take a tea light and become a little tealight house, and each house's page says whether it can.
Does the roof get warm?
Yes, it can! And please never leave a lit tea light unattended.
How big are the fairy houses?
Acorn House is about 20 cm tall and Blossom House about 21 cm, and each one weighs about a kilo. Every house has its measurements on its own page.
Is each fairy house a one-off?
Yes! Every house is the only one there is, so once it's found a home, it's gone, and I can't promise to make the same one again. But watch this space for more!
How long will delivery take?
Please allow 3 to 5 working days for your order to be wrapped up and posted, then it travels UK Tracked 48. I can only post within the UK for now. There's more on my shipping page.
